With the AW3 Combo we are able to remove your unwanted tattoos. This includes semipermanent cosmetic facial tattoos such as lip liners and eyebrows.
How it Works
The ND YAG Q switched is applied to the tattoo. The tattoo absorbs the laser light, creating an acoustic shock and shattering the ink into minute particles. These particles are then transported out of the body via the lymphatic system, through the kidneys and urine. We are able to remove both professional and ametuer tattoos of all colours, although it should be noted that some colours are easier to remove than others and repeat sessions may be needed for effective removal.
How Many Sessions Will I Need?
Results can be seen after the first treatment however, the number of sessions that you might need depends on the depth of the tattoo and the colour of the ink. This could mean that you might require 3-5 treatments to be taken every six weeks for complete removal.
How Long does the Treatment Take?
This is entirely dependant on the size of the tattoo. A small tattoo might only take less than ten minutes whereas a large or multiple tattoos could take anywhere up to an hour of treatment.
Does it Hurt?
This is a difficult question to answer as this will depend on your own personal pain threshold and the type and size of the tattoo. Some clients do not find it uncomfortable at all and others liken the treatment to being flicked with an elastic band.
Will the Area Scar Following Treatment?
Early laser machines were much more aggressive and so carried a higher risk of scarring. The development of machines has reduced this risk significantly and the ND YAG laser does not heat the surrounding tissue, reducing this risk further. Scarring is mainly the result of a person's' predisposition to create scar tissue (such as keloid scarring for example).
What Else Can Be Treated with ND YAG Q Switch Laser?
Due to the versatility of the laser we can also remove birthmarks, Nevus of Ota, Pigmentation, Thread veins
How Does it Work?
Hair contains melanin and the light produced by the laser or IPL is absorbed into the hair. This causes a heat reaction and destroys the follicle.
Who Can be Treated?
All skin and hair types can be treated with the AW3 Combo although this treatment is more effective on those with darker hair due to the higher concentration of melanin which in turn, creates a greater heat to effectively destroy the hair follicle.
Does it Hurt?
The sensation varies depending on the area of the hair removal and the client themselves. Due to the light energy absorbing melanin it therefore goes that those with darker and thicker hair will experience more of a sensation than those with lighter colour hairs. In relation to IPL hair removal, many describe this treatment as being flicked with an elastic band.
Do I Need to Shave Prior to Treatment?
Yes. You should your chosen area the night before your treatment to achieve the best results. The hair should not be longer than 1mm in length. Failure to do so can result in small burns in the skin and it will also make the treatment more uncomfortable.
My Hairs are Still Growing After the Treatment!
Although the heat energy from the laser/IPL treatment kills the hairs will remain in the follicle. They are slowly pushed out by the epidermis and will naturally shed over a one to three week period. To encourage the shedding process you are able to gently exfoliate with a body brush between treatments. You are also able to shave four days after your last treatment.
How Many Treatments will I Need?
As there are three different stages of hair growth, not all hairs will be effectively removed after a single treatment. It is therefore advised that you undertake three to six treatments that are taken four to eight weeks apart.
Skin Rejuvenation Sun damage is the main cause of aging. Regardless of how dull the weather may be, everyone should protect their skin from the damaging UVA and UVB rays. This treatment is an effective way to reverse the signs of aging through sun damage and over time will smooth out the skin, tighten pores, even skin tone and boost collagen.
Many people suffer from hyperpigmentation, sun and age spots. This wonderful treatment can help fade and remove these blemishes from the skin as well as provide a clearer and more even skin tone. Following the treatment, the pigmentation will initially turn darker and a crust will appear on the skin. This must be picked and left to naturally shed which may take up to ten days post treatment.
A simple, quick and effective treatment using RF Elite IPL to really boost collagen and push out even the deepest wrinkles. Heat is created in the epidermis and dermis making the body think
that it has received an injury. This in turn triggers a healing response which leads to the reproduction of collagen that plumps out the skin and smooths out wrinkles.
Does it Hurt?
Like any treatment, the level of discomfort a person feels is dependant on their personal pain threshold. With these particular treatments the level of sensation is based upon the amount of melanin within the skin. Clients describe skin rejuvenation, pigmentation therapy and wrinkle reduction as a heat sensation and others liken it to receiving a mild and light sunburn.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
For maximum results clients should receive between one and six treatments that should be taken four weeks apart. To maintain the results, top sessions should be considered in the future.
IPL For Acne
There are three different kinds of acne:
• Acne Rosacea: Inflammation of the chest, face or neck. • Acne Vulgaris: Painful pimples and skin lesions caused through clogged hair follicles. • Acne Conglobate: Where pustules and nodules cover the back, chest and buttocks which may lead to a bacterial infection and where excessive scarring may occur.
How does IPL Treat Acne?
The destruction of the P Acne bacteria is achieved with the light of the IPL. Through maintaining a course of treatment, the destruction rate is greater than the production of P acne bacteria resulting in reduced outbreaks, lesions and lowering the risk of scarring. This treatment also has the added benefit of reducing oil production of oil in the skin by reducing the blood flow to the sebaceous glands.
How many Treatments Will I Need?
We recommend four treatments to be taken at three week intervals. Depending on the severity of acne, a further course may be required and maintenance treatments should be taken to maintain the skin.
How Does This Treatment Work?
This simple treatment effectively removes unsightly thread veins. The light from the laser creates a heat reaction when absorbed by the blood in the vessels. This in turn causes the vessel to breakdown and the body’s response is to remove the debris through the lymphatic system.
Who can Be Treated?
Unfortunately, we are only able to treat clients with skin types one to three on the fitzpatrick scale. To minimise discomfort, clients are advised to avoid exposure of the sun for at least thirty days prior to treatment.
How Many Sessions Are Needed?
It is recommended that clients receive between two and four treatments in their chosen area, which are to be taken four weeks apart.
Does it Hurt?
Much like other laser treatments, the level of discomfort felt by clients varies from one person to another. Some liken the pain to being flicked with an elastic band. Tingling and sharp pain post treatment are normal.
Carbon laser facials can treat a multitude of different skin concerns in one. These amazing facials can assist in reducing and removing the following:
• Active acne • Wrinkles • Large Pores • Signs of aging • Pigmentation
How Does it Work?
By applying a carbon paste to the skin which is then blasted away with short bursts of laser, this facial not only penetrates the dermal layer of the skin but also exfoliates the epidermis to give lasting results.
The Effects of a Carbon Facial
As mentioned above, a carbon laser facial targets several different skin concerns. For wrinkles, the heat created from the laser causes micro injuries under the skin. As the body believes that an injury has occured it triggers a healing response which in turn triggers the production of new collagen. The new collagen plumps out fine lines and wrinkles to give a smoother appearance. On pigmentation the laser penetrates the skin where the pigmentation sits. Not only does the pigmented skin up to create a crust which naturally falls off on its own, but it also shatters parts of the pigmentation into smaller pieces which is then disposed of by the body. Another amazing benefit of this treatment is how it stops active acne in its tracks. The laser kills the P acne bacteria which stops the spreading of acne and it also heats up the capillaries that supply the sebaceous glands which prevents the overproduction of oil. Open pores are also minimised by the energy blasts of laser. This in turn exfoliates the skin and brightens the skin tone.
Important Information for Laser Treatments
Strict rules must be adhered to when administering laser treatments of any kind. These are:
• A patch test must be carried out prior to receiving any treatment to determine whether a person is suitable to undergo laser sessions. Between one and two weeks (dependant on skin type) must be left following a patch test before treatments can commence. Any adverse reactions will mean a client cannot receive laser treatments of any kind. • 30 Day Rule. The thirty day rule means that a client cannot have laser treatment on a particular area if that area has been exposed to sun without the protection of an SPF 30 cream. Sun exposure must not have occured in that area thirty days prior to a treatment, or due to occur within thirty days of the treatment being carried out. • For hair removal, you must not wax or thread the hair in the treatment area, have electrolysis in the area, use a depilatory cream or bleaching cream. The area must be shaved on the day of, or the night before, you receive the treatment. • For all other treatments: Do not use sunbeds, do not sunbathe, do not use tanning cream. • In the case of thread veins you must not smoke four hours prior to treatment.
Who Can We Not Treat?
Unfortunately, we are unable to treat clients who have the following conditions:
• Heart Disease • Burns/grafter skin • Liver/kidney disease • Haemangioma • Uncontrolled diabetes • Aids
• Gold injections • Haemophilia • Anti coagulants • Pregnancy/breastfeeding • Keloid formation/scars • Cancer (radiation/chemotherapy) • Epilepsy • Psoriasis • Vitiligo • Lupus disease • Active tan (see thirty day rule) • Pacemaker • Clotting disorders • Anti inflammatory medication
There are certain medications taken for conditions which would render you unsuitable for treatment. The reason for this is that particular medications can cause adverse reactions when laser light is administered. This may result in burns to the skin, hyperpigmentation, hypopigmentation and excessive bleeding. If you are taking any medications please feel free to contact the clinic to discuss this further, although all details will be confirmed during the consultation process.
